About me

I’m Rob Sprackling, a screenwriter and director.

I conceived and wrote the original screenplay for the $200m grossing movie ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’ for which I was Annie Award nominated, and the $50m grossing ‘The Queen’s Corgi’ (currently being made into a 52 part TV series spin off).

I wrote ‘Mike Bassett: England Manager’ (one of the top 5 UK movies of that year) and the hit ITV series spin off.

I wrote the screenplay for the award winning animated movie ‘Ellleville Elfrid’ (aka Ella Bella Bingo) and have written numerous screenplays for most Hollywood Studios including Disney, Dreamworks, Fox, Paramount, Colombia, Lionsgate and Sony.

I work regularly with Aardman Animation and have done punch ups on their Oscar nominated ‘Shaun the Sheep’ movie and ‘Early Man’.

I have written numerous TV series and have directed three award winning short films.

I wrote a kids book ‘Born Again Ben’ which sold to Paramount Pictures.

I recently conceived and wrote a period, TV drama series which I sold to BAFTA award winning production company ‘Company Pictures’ (makers of Wolf Hall, Shameless, Skins) and I have a new animated feature film currently in pre-production.

I am represented by Gemma Hirst (GHA) in the UK and Jon Kanak (Activist Management) in the US.
